About the role

  • Payroll Specialist managing weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly payroll for small-business clients. Utilizing various systems and ensuring compliance with laws in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

  • Administer weekly, bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll for companies across the country
  • Provide clients with innovative, structured solutions that scale, add value and build trust
  • Accurately process client payroll, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and internal policies
  • Ensure hours are properly imported from Time & Attendance systems
  • Oversee processing of payroll changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, raises, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports
  • Submit 401k and HSA contributions as needed
  • Resolve payroll-related questions and issues
  • Maintain a working knowledge of payroll-related systems for client service and recommendations

Requirements

  • 4+ years of direct, hands-on payroll experience
  • Experience working with multi-state companies/clients
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll compliance
  • Excellent time management and strict adherence to deadlines
  • Experience in Gusto, Paylocity, Rippling, ADP, Paychex, iSolved, Paycom is highly preferred
  • Certifications like CPP or FPC are preferred but not required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
