About the role
- Set and amplify the narrative for Mila Ventures within the AI ecosystem. Collaborate closely with teams to boost communications and visibility across media and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve Mila Ventures’ overarching narrative (Studio, Accelerator, Academy, Fund)
- Clarify what makes the Venture Scientist model distinctive and credible
- Ensure consistency, clarity and high quality across all Ventures communications
- Translate complex topics (AI, research, venture) into accessible, impactful stories
- Tell the stories of Mila’s startups, founders and Venture Scientists
- Help founders and Venture Scientists structure and express their narratives
- Produce high-quality written content: profiles, articles, announcements and speaking pieces
- Identify meaningful stories beyond routine news
- Lead media relations for Mila Ventures and its startups, in coordination with MarCom
- Identify and pitch relevant angles to key journalists and media outlets
- Prepare founders, Venture Scientists and leaders for media interactions
- Support visibility with investors and partners through a clear, well-positioned narrative
- Manage Mila Ventures’ digital presence (notably LinkedIn and the website), in alignment with MarCom
- Track content performance and adjust quickly
- Support launches, Demo Days, funding announcements and other milestone events
- Work closely with the Venture Studio, Accelerator, Academy and executive team
- Be sufficiently immersed in activities to communicate accurately and authentically
- Coordinate closely with MarCom while maintaining a strong, distinct Ventures voice
Requirements
- Exceptional writer — precise, impactful and detail-oriented — with at least 5 years of experience in communications, content, marketing, editorial or media relations
- Experience at a leading communications or marketing agency on high-visibility mandates
- A senior marketing or communications role within a high-growth startup
- Experience in the tech ecosystem, startups, venture capital, research or innovation (strong asset)
- Fast, organized and comfortable working in ambiguity
- Curious about startups, venture capital and cutting-edge technologies
- Comfortable engaging with founders, researchers, executives, investors and media
