About the role

  • Manages, plans, organizes, and controls a multi-faceted Building Automation System (BAS) across the Oxford, Middletown, and Hamilton campuses.
  • Provides direction and support for network infrastructure, head-end software, and hardware;
  • Administers service agreements;
  • Diagnoses and repairs system and component problems;
  • Creates and modifies control programs;
  • Performs minor control hardware installation.
  • Serves as the primary technical authority on building controls.
  • Coordinates with university project managers and outside contractors to ensure system standards and sequences of operation are met.
  • Proactively monitors and modifies building sequences of operation to ensure optimum performance and drive campus-wide energy efficiency.
  • Manages and develops a team of internal technicians and oversees the work of outside contractors.
  • Manages and evaluates the effectiveness of a retro-commissioning program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus a minimum of five (5) years of full-time experience programming, installing, maintaining, and/or operating a complex building automation system;
  • Related associate’s degree plus a minimum of eight (8) years of full-time experience programming, installing, maintaining, and/or operating a complex building automation system;
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of full-time, verifiable experience programming, installing, maintaining, and/or operating a complex building automation system.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering plus a minimum of five (5) years of full-time experience programming, installing, maintaining, and/or operating a complex building automation system.
  • Direct experience managing a BAS in a large, multi-building campus environment.
  • Experience and knowledge of Siemens & Delta Building Automation Systems and their programming languages.
  • Experience with HVAC new construction commissioning, re-commissioning, and BACnet protocol.
  • Professional certification such as Certified Automation Professional (CAP), Certified Controls Engineer (CCE), or Siemens SITRAIN Certification.
