About the role

  • Senior Fixed Asset Accountant contributing to financial results and key initiatives at Megaport. Collaborating in a dynamic finance team with a proactive approach in a tech industry environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the team to complete ongoing financial accounting and month-end close procedures including preparing calculations, posting journals, performing analysis and reconciliations.
  • Maintaining the fixed and intangible asset registers.
  • Ensuring all capital expenditure recognised is allowable in line with the relevant accounting standards (e.g. IAS 16/AASB 116 and IAS 38/AASB 138 Intangible Assets
  • Accurate and timely capitalisation of assets from assets under construction
  • Accurate and timely processing of capitalised wages
  • Accurate and timely processing of depreciation
  • Responsible for the accurate completion of the fixed asset and intangible asset rollforwards required to be disclosed in the notes of the Group financial statements and as required, subsidiary financial statements
  • Review capital expenditure assessment forms
  • Providing analysis and commentary to support management reporting on a monthly and half-yearly basis as well as ad hoc reporting as required.
  • Assist with the Group and Statutory audits, including but not limited to supporting the audit procedures relating to capital expenditure
  • Reviewing, developing, and implementing new and existing policies and procedures in the company with a particular focus on fixed assets.
  • Effectively manage multiple stakeholders internally and externally. Driving ongoing process improvement within Finance

Requirements

  • Recent tertiary graduate of Commerce, Accounting or Finance with a minimum 1 year of experience post graduation.
  • Commenced or plans to commence further professional qualifications (CA/CPA).
  • Highly developed excel skills.
  • Strong standards of ethics, professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Agile and Adaptable - able to quickly adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Stong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Brisbane based.
