About the role
- Senior Accountant overseeing financial accounting and tax duties for a diverse team in Berlin. Contributing to monthly and annual closing processes in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Active posting in sub-ledgers (accounts payable and accounts receivable invoices)
- Significant support in preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB)
- Preparation of VAT advance returns
- Balance sheet analysis and account reconciliations
Requirements
- Completed vocational training as a tax clerk (Steuerfachangestellte) with further qualification such as Fachwirt, Bilanzbuchhalter (certified balance sheet accountant), Steuerfachwirt or equivalent
- Relevant experience with SAP
- Excellent knowledge of tax law and the German Commercial Code (HGB)
- Excellent written and spoken German and good English skills
- Some team leadership experience is desirable
- Strong self-organization and excellent time management
- A strong numerical orientation, meticulousness and reliability are required.
