About the role

  • Senior Accountant overseeing financial accounting and tax duties for a diverse team in Berlin. Contributing to monthly and annual closing processes in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Active posting in sub-ledgers (accounts payable and accounts receivable invoices)
  • Significant support in preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB)
  • Preparation of VAT advance returns
  • Balance sheet analysis and account reconciliations

Requirements

  • Completed vocational training as a tax clerk (Steuerfachangestellte) with further qualification such as Fachwirt, Bilanzbuchhalter (certified balance sheet accountant), Steuerfachwirt or equivalent
  • Relevant experience with SAP
  • Excellent knowledge of tax law and the German Commercial Code (HGB)
  • Excellent written and spoken German and good English skills
  • Some team leadership experience is desirable
  • Strong self-organization and excellent time management
  • A strong numerical orientation, meticulousness and reliability are required.
