About the role

  • Senior Accountant responsible for month-end closures and statutory reporting in Singapore and Korea. Requires strong accounting standards knowledge in APAC with collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of month end journals and reconciliations
  • Manage the accounting and financial operations to ensure timely delivery of monthly financial statements and variance analysis
  • Working with 3rd party outsourced partners for bookkeeping and reporting
  • Involved in the local statutory audit and reporting (Singapore and Korea)
  • Prepare quarterly GST/VAT returns for Korea entities
  • Involved in AP, AR and PO activities
  • Ensure compliance with local GAAPs and corporate accounting standards (US GAAP)
  • Update and maintain internal control and systems, including Sarbanes Oxley
  • Interface with external and internal auditors and prepare/gather materials accounting matters per auditor’s requirements.
  • Liaise with Operations, Portfolio /Asset management team and other departments on new agreements or arrangements
  • Responsible for intercompany transactions and reporting
  • Manage lessee accounting for the region
  • Liaise with Tax and Treasury regarding tax and funding requirements.

  • Be a fundamental player in the APAC Accounting organisation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, ACCA or equivalents, with CA/CPA membership or working towards obtaining the necessary qualifications
  • Strong Accounting knowledge of accounting standards for APAC especially in South Korea
  • A minimum 8 years' experience with combination of at least 3 years in audit and regional exposure preferred
  • Good knowledge of accounting software, preferably Yardi, Oracle.
  • Ability to read, analyse and interpret relevant financial reports, legal documents, accounting pronouncements, regulations and corporate policies in Korean
  • Able to prioritise and organise, ensuring all tasks are completed on time
  • Able to work independently with a minimal level of supervision
  • A strong concern for quality - good business judgement and excellent attention to detail
  • Collaborating across teams and offices to achieve successful outcomes with the appropriate levels of support and challenge
  • Ability to evaluate process improvements opportunities and to implement them
  • Strong analytical and technical accounting skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong team player within the team
