About the role
- Bridge Technical Manager delivering transportation engineering projects and mentoring junior staff in California. Overseeing design, client relations, and quality assurance for complex bridge projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical delivery of bridge and structural engineering tasks for transportation projects
- Prepare and review design deliverables, including studies, construction drawings, calculations, technical reports, and supporting documentation
- Develop and review project technical specifications
- Coordinate project schedules, budgets, and resources, monitoring progress and implementing adjustments as needed to meet deadlines and financial targets
- Serve as primary technical liaison with clients, addressing project issues, leading meetings, and maintaining strong client relationships
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff
- Prepare scopes of work, cost estimates, and technical input for proposals and business development efforts
- Provide quality control, quality assurance for bridge project of simple and complex nature
- Occasional to moderate travel may be required
Requirements
- Master’s degree in civil engineering, Structural Engineering, Engineering Management, or similar degree
- California P.E. is required
- California S.E preferred
- Minimum 10 years of experience in bridge and transportation engineering, with experience managing bridge-related projects or tasks
- Familiarity with California DOT (Caltrans) standards and procedures
- Proficiency with bridge analysis and design software programs
- Experience in using MicroStation and Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to lead and interact with multi-disciplined teams
