About the role

  • Data Analyst with expertise in SQL and Python for data-driven decision making at Matrix Energy. Collaborates between Operations team and the data platform for efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, together with Operations teams, the main processes, systems and data sources (internal and external);
  • Model tables and data layers (staging, core, mart) aligned with the CoE standards;
  • Develop and maintain ingestion, transformation and load processes using Python, SQL and GCP (e.g., BigQuery, Cloud Storage);
  • Orchestrate pipelines with Airflow, ensuring reliability, reprocessing and monitoring;
  • Automate system integrations between Operations platforms and the data warehouse/lake;
  • Create and evolve management and operational dashboards in Power BI, focusing on performance, efficiency, cost, quality and SLA metrics;
  • Ensure consistency of KPI definitions together with Operations managers and the Data CoE;
  • Implement data quality rules, monitoring completeness, consistency and timeliness of loads;
  • Document sources, data dictionary, indicator calculation logic and integration flows;
  • Support the standardization of metrics and the use of data according to CoE guidelines;
  • Act as a business partner, understanding Operations pain points and opportunities and translating them into data solutions;
  • Perform exploratory and ad-hoc analyses in Python/SQL to answer business questions and validate hypotheses;
  • Train key users (Operations managers and analysts) on using dashboards and indicators;
  • Work in alignment with architects, engineers and data scientists from the CoE;
  • Ensure solutions follow corporate architecture, security and data governance standards;
  • Contribute with best practices, component reuse and the evolution of the data platform.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (completed);
  • Advanced SQL and Python experience for ETL/ELT and automations;
  • Experience with GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Airflow/Composer);
  • Experience in data modeling and pipeline orchestration;
  • Experience with Power BI (Power Query, DAX, dashboards and RLS);
  • Clear communication between business and technology;
  • Hands-on, analytical and delivery-oriented profile;
  • Organized, with good documentation skills and collaborative work style;
  • Proactive in proposing data improvements and solutions;
  • Desirable experience with large volumes of data and multiple sources;
  • Good data engineering practices;
  • Experience with AI/LLMs applied to data;
  • Desirable knowledge of statistics and a data-driven culture;
  • Experience working closely with operational areas is a plus.
