Responsibilities
- Work as a business partner within project teams
- Ensure optimal external material costs for MAHLE’s competitiveness
- Responsibility over project purchasing related topics for HVAC, BEV TMM’s, EK, EGR, ICAC, BCP & Engine Mounted Components
- Target the definition, achievement and reporting of Project Purchasing KPI’s
- Mentor and coach personnel capacity and qualification planning for project buyers
- Conduct annual performance reviews for employees
- Develop annual Goals and Objectives
- Ensure project objectives regarding timelines, quality, and target prices are achieved
- Coordinate regional and global projects between regions
- Provide feedback on supplier performance during the project phase
- Participation and approval of customer quotes for Project buying scope
- Monitor compliance of existing PU policies, procedures, and documentation
- Ensure interface with Engineering, Design Engineers, Logistics, Foreign Trade departments to successfully launch development programs
- Support purchasing aspects of supplier quality and cost reduction process
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in technical discipline or bachelor’s degree in business
- 7+ years’ experience in a purchasing, quality, or manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of quality and purchasing fundamentals, mechanical refrigeration systems, automotive heating and air conditioning, and engine cooling
- Good understanding of quality and statistical process control techniques as well as basic manufacturing processes such as light assembly, metal working, electronics assembly, rubber and plastic molding
- Advanced communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks smoothly with a high accountability level, and a substantial level of stress
