About the role

  • Project Management Specialist delivering integrated mental health and addictions care initiatives for the Maamwesying Ontario Health Team. Engaging with the community and providing strategic project management consultation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project management consultation, strategic expertise, and coordination of the delivery of integrated mental health and addictions care initiatives for the Maamwesying Ontario Health Team
  • Support initiatives across the Maamwesying Ontario Health Team Geographic Catchment area
  • Work under the direction of the Maamwesying Ontario Health Operations Manager
  • Engage with community stakeholders and facilitate discussions in diverse settings

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate Degree or post‑secondary education in health, social services, public administration, or a related field (required)
  • Project management experience in the mental health and addictions sector (required)
  • Demonstrated experience in change management and system transformation initiatives
  • Proven ability to facilitate community engagement and lead group discussions in diverse settings
  • Experience with health system planning, program evaluation, or service mapping
  • Strong knowledge of the mental health and addictions sector, preferably within First Nations, Indigenous, or rural/remote contexts
  • Demonstrated experience working with cross‑functional teams that include internal and external partners
  • Knowledge of population health datasets (e.g., Statistics Canada projections, CIHI population grouping methodology, NACRS, DAD, OCAN) is an asset
  • Knowledge of and interest in the health issues affecting Indigenous people
  • Experience working with Indigenous people, organizations, and communities
  • Knowledge and experience with Anishinabek Health and Traditional healing practices
  • Excellent communication, relationship‑building, and facilitation skills
  • Excellent ability to prioritize and organize work, with initiative to improve processes
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, changing environment
  • Flexible thinker with the ability to quickly adapt to new information and evolving needs
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Google Drive (required)
  • Good understanding of Ontario’s healthcare system and healthcare administration (asset)
  • Knowledge of Ontario’s Ontario Health Team (OHT) model and local OHT structure/plan (asset)
  • Ability to speak Ojibway is an asset
  • Self‑directed, continuous learner able to work with minimal supervision while managing schedules, tasks, and shifting priorities
  • A clear criminal reference check is required
  • Access to a reliable vehicle, possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to regularly travel across the Maamwesying OHT geographic catchment area are required
