About the role

  • Payroll Administrator at Long View responsible for processing semimonthly payroll and maintaining employee payroll records using Ceridian. Collaborating with People Services and ensuring compliance with payroll legislation.

Responsibilities

  • Process both regular semimonthly payroll and special pay runs as necessary for salaried and hourly employees using Ceridian
  • Posting Payroll entries in D365 – Accounting system
  • Update and maintain employee payroll records
  • Review, manage, and process calculations for garnishments, support orders, and tax levies
  • Calculate and review monthly Ontario and Quarterly BC Employer Health Tax reports and payments
  • Assist with monthly closing process by reviewing and reconciling payroll-related General Ledger accounts
  • Collect data and provide calculation for annual RSP employer contribution
  • Provide census data for Worker Compensation reporting across multiple provinces
  • Stay informed on topics of changes to payroll legislation and tax and deduction requirements that apply to the payroll process
  • Work with People Services (PS) to coordinate employee benefits
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting for Managers, PS, and Finance and Accounting
  • Assist with annual audit documentation for external auditors
  • Assist with processing and distribution of annual tax forms, including T4, T4A, and T2200

Requirements

  • PCP designation with 3+ years of full cycle Canadian payroll experience
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce Payroll Software, highly recommended
  • Solid understanding of payroll fundamentals, legislation, and best practices
  • Intermediate Microsoft office and Excel skills
  • Ability to work in dynamic environment
