Legal Supervisor in consumer law at LBCA, overseeing legal teams and ensuring compliance in civil litigation. Engaging with clients and improving internal processes in a multidisciplinary law environment.
Responsibilities
Supervise the legal team handling consumer civil litigation (Small Claims Courts and Common Courts);
Ensure strict compliance with procedural deadlines, with monitoring, auditing and continuous improvement of internal workflows;
Perform technical review and standardization of court filings, including answers, appeals, motions and execution of judgments;
Define, guide and oversee legal strategies and defensive theories, ensuring technical consistency and risk mitigation;
Act as direct interface with the client, providing clear and objective reports on case status, risks, contingencies and potential losses;
Support negotiations, settlements and mediations with a strategic cost/benefit perspective focused on reducing liabilities;
Monitor performance indicators (KPIs), proposing improvements in productivity, quality and portfolio results;
Manage incidents and critical issues such as injunctions, urgent matters, risks of fines/astreintes, defaults and damages.
Requirements
Education: Postgraduate degree in Consumer Law, Civil Procedure or related areas is a plus.
Solid knowledge of Consumer Law as applied to litigation, including civil liability, moral and material damages, exculpatory defenses and reversal of the burden of proof;
Experience with high-volume civil litigation, especially in Small Claims Courts (Juizados Especiais);
Mastery of Civil Procedure routines, such as deadlines, appeals, enforcement of judgments and interim remedies;
Experience in portfolio management, technical review and quality control;
Negotiation skills and experience leading strategic settlement discussions;
Experience managing by indicators (KPIs) and preparing client reports;
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
Familiarity with legal management systems and electronic court platforms (PJe, e-SAJ, PROJUDI, among others);
Spanish language skills are a plus.
