About the role

  • Programme Manager leading digital project delivery within Barnet’s Strategy & Innovation directorate. Overseeing a portfolio of projects focused on improving resident outcomes and financial sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the successful delivery of a broad portfolio of digital projects and programmes
  • Managing and leading a team of up to five staff and provide strong matrix leadership across the wider digital function
  • Working closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation to identify opportunities, drive efficiencies, and shape improvement activity
  • Offering expert digital consultancy, prioritising and allocating work, and providing guidance to services as they procure and implement digital solutions
  • Promoting and embedding a user-focused, digital-first mindset across the organisation
  • Championing high-quality service design, accessibility, iteration and inclusive digital practices
  • Shaping the remit, influencing the future of the DDaT Enablement function and contributing to developing Barnet’s digital capability and ways of working

Requirements

  • Experienced senior digital leader with extensive programme management experience in complex, multistakeholder environments
  • Strong track record of delivering large-scale digital change, ensuring benefits are realised, risks are managed and programmes are delivered successfully across technical, organisational and service-led contexts
  • Confident leading multidisciplinary teams, motivating staff, managing direct reports and influencing matrix-aligned colleagues
  • Comfortable advising senior officers, working with suppliers and development partners, and navigating the complexities of public sector operations
  • Able to interpret technical issues, translate them into business-focused recommendations, and present information clearly to a range of audiences
