About the role

  • Assistant Director leading Family Help, Youth Justice and Safeguarding services at Barnet Council. Focused on child-centred practices and strategic partnerships for community engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the development of new ways of working building on existing service delivery models.
  • Establishing better ways of working that prioritize child-centred practices.
  • Leading on delivering a child-centred, whole family approach to supporting children.
  • Creating and sustaining influential relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Implementing the creation and development of family help teams.
  • Ensuring the Council’s statutory functions and responsibilities for safeguarding and youth justice are fulfilled.

Requirements

  • Qualified and registered social worker with the ability to manage both projects and finances.
  • Aspiring system Leaders who can create the right culture and environment for the children’s workforce to flourish.
  • Strong background in driving excellent outcomes for children and young people.
  • Passionate about engaging children, young people and their families, obtaining feedback, listening to their ideas and promoting co-production of services, policies and plans.
