About the role

  • Financial accounting and bookkeeping
  • Preparation of ongoing accounting for various companies, including accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger
  • Reconciliation and maintenance of accounts as well as open-item management
  • Processing of bank documents, credit card statements and cash receipts
  • Control of payments in and out, including dunning
  • Review and settlement of travel expenses (including receipt verification and reimbursement) and commission accounting
  • Participation in monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB (German Commercial Code)
  • Support with withholding tax refunds abroad
  • Interface to tax advisors, auditors and banks (e.g., for annual financial statements, tax audits and reporting)
  • Preparation of analyses and reports (e.g., liquidity, cost centers)
  • Contract management for various service providers (e.g., insurance)
  • Support of management in special projects and preparation of controlling topics
  • Support in human resources
  • Preliminary payroll processing (master data maintenance, changes, document verification)
  • Interface to external service providers (tax advisors, auditors, social security agencies) and internal departments

Requirements

  • Completed commercial vocational training, e.g., industrial clerk, office management clerk, tax clerk or equivalent; ideally with further training in accounting
  • Several years of professional experience in financial accounting; experience in HR is an advantage
  • Confident user of common ERP/accounting systems (e.g., DATEV or similar) and MS Office
  • Very good German skills and good English skills, both written and spoken
  • Structured, careful, independent and reliable working style; high discretion and trustworthiness
  • Service-oriented communication skills and enjoyment of teamwork
