About the role

  • Facility Security Officer responsible for developing and administering security programs for classified materials. Overseeing compliance with federal security regulations at the Rochester, NY site.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and administer security programs and procedures for classified, sensitive, or proprietary materials, documents, and equipment
  • Research and implement federal security regulations
  • Maintain knowledge and awareness of interdisciplinary compliance requirements
  • Prepare manuals outlining regulations, and establish procedures for handling, storing, retaining records, and accessing restricted records
  • Conduct security education, training, and security audits
  • Investigate security violations and prepare reports specifying preventive action
  • Communicate with leadership regarding matters of importance to the function or business area
  • Lead and direct experienced professionals
  • Establish short-term operational plans with measurable contributions to function or business area results

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience; or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience; or in lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience
  • Completion of an accredited/approved FSO course; other professional accreditations and certifications preferred
  • Able to interface effectively with all levels of corporate management and government customers
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Experience using security management software and applications
  • Highly organized with ability to manage multiple priorities and time sensitive deliverables
  • Hands on, self-starting, disciplined and detail-oriented individual with ability to work independently in a high-volume environment
  • Experience implementing NISPOM requirements and ICD 705 Standards
  • Oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively manage a security team to deliver the highest-quality customer service.
