About the role

  • Associate Manager of Procurement overseeing a team for efficient goods acquisition at L3Harris Technologies. Responsibilities include contract negotiation and supplier collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing a team of 5+ direct reports.
  • Ensuring the efficient acquisition of goods and services at the best possible cost.
  • Coaching buyers through supplier relationships.
  • Negotiating contracts.
  • Collaborating with various departments to meet the organization's procurement needs.
  • Acting as path of escalation on shortages.
  • Analyzing and interpreting engineering drawings/schematics.
  • Sending RFQs to obtain quotes, examining bids, and making awards.
  • Compiling and analyzing statistical data.
  • Reviewing proposals, negotiating prices, selecting or recommending suppliers.
  • Sourcing and purchasing direct materials necessary for operation.
  • Ensuring supplier compliance via an internet supplier portal.
  • Participating and contributing to departmental and company-wide process improvements and lean initiatives.
  • Sustaining success metrics incorporating best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience purchasing parts and/or services in a medium to high volume environment.
  • Experience in Government and Commercial Contracting/Subcontracting managing supplier performance in the areas of technical scope, schedule, and cost.
  • Engineering or Technical Background.
  • Experience engaging with suppliers and analyzing suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
  • MRP Experience, Agile configuration.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Cost analysis and negotiation experience.
  • Experience and understanding of product specifications, statements of work (SOW), and terms and conditions.
  • Advanced Excel skills including Pivot tables, macros, etc.
  • Global sourcing experience.
