Responsibilities
Leading and developing teams in Seed Production (including trial seeds), Production Consultancy, Quality Laboratory, and Logistics
Managing and steering production activities and performance using KPIs (operational indicators, financial results, production cost ratio, and defined personnel targets)
Driving the professional and personal development of direct reports and team members
Managing budget and medium-term planning (investments, staffing, cost centers, production costs)
Taking responsibility for multiplication and production planning, including negotiation and coordination with external partners
Serving as a key interface to the KWS sales organization, international production networks, and crop leads
Shaping the future of the production department by evolving structures, equipment, and crop portfolios
Ensuring compliance with official regulations and advancing KWS internal standards and guidelines
Leading and contributing to strategic projects and cross-functional initiatives
Representing KWS and actively contributing to seed associations and industry networks
Requirements
Degree in agriculture, economics, or a related field
Several years of proven industry experience, ideally within the seed sector or seed production
Demonstrated experience in leading leaders and managing complex organizational structures
Excellent German (spoken and written) and good English skills
Strong proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems, ideally SAP S/4
Strong leadership presence, assertiveness, and the ability to manage change effectively
Entrepreneurial mindset with a high degree of ownership and openness to share ideas across the organization
Proven leadership qualities, combining reliability, empathy, and the ability to guide teams through change and complexity
High flexibility and strong collaboration skills, with an open mindset and proven cross-functional and stakeholder engagement
