About the role

  • Analyst supporting valuation advisory services for alternative asset management. Working with clients on alternative investments while developing technical skills in the financial valuation sector.

Responsibilities

  • Assist on a range of valuation advisory services to the alternative asset community
  • Develop deep technical strength in the valuation of alternative assets
  • Review investment memoranda, governing documents of structured investments, board of directors’ presentations, and client models
  • Assist the team with interviewing clients, to gather data and information pertinent to the engagement
  • Design financial models for discounted cash flow, market multiple, and option pricing analyses
  • Perform valuation analysis on a wide range of illiquid investments
  • Compile statistical summaries of companies’ financial information and develop financial ratios
  • Work with management to build and maintain client relationships
  • Report and present analyses and conclusions including written reports

Requirements

  • CA, Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics or equivalent thereof (e.g., CFA); or MBA from an accredited college/university
  • Minimum 0-1 year of experience constructing and reviewing valuation models and other financial models including: enterprise valuation using DCF & market approaches, and other structured investment models.
  • Experience with credit analysis or structured securities experience is a plus: CLOs, CMBS, RMBS, ABS, etc., Intex or other tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent understanding of financial statements analysis with the ability to work through key assumptions, implicit caveats and limitations
  • Familiarity with relevant accounting standards and policies produced and amended from time to time by the AICPA and other oversight bodies
  • Knowledge of software packages including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Direct experience working with VBA, Python, and Power BI is highly desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that help represent diverse communities
  • Experience working with diverse teams
