Responsibilities
develops control system designs, programs, and commissions PLC code
creates graphical user interfaces for material handling systems
tests code functionality and troubleshoots on-site electrical equipment
collaborates with Electrical Engineering on control network architecture
defines electrical device requirements
supports project estimates
recommends productivity and cost improvements
designs and develops control systems for material handling automation projects
travels to customer sites and project locations up to 70% of the time, including short-duration assignments and multiple 10/4 rotations
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field required
1-3 years of work experience in the material handling industry or a similar industry required
experience with Rockwell Automation PLC programming, including GuardLogix
Siemens TIA Portal PLC programming, and Starter
experience with Ethernet/IP network architecture
experience interpreting electrical schematic drawings and understanding HMI programming
basic troubleshooting skills for PLC and electrical equipment
