About the role

• Capacity Engineer Senior Associate creating layouts and optimizing designs within Equinix data centers. Collaborating across teams to improve infrastructure and capacity planning initiatives at a global firm.

Responsibilities

• Creates standard Cage-Cabinet design options that respond to moderate customer requirements, Equinix requirements and physical site constraints
• Prepares notional Cage-Cabinet layouts, area calculations and diagrams for each individual standard data center within a moderate scope
• Utilizes developed knowledge of electrical/mechanical infrastructure to notionally attribute standard Cage-Cabinet designs against Data Center infrastructure within a moderate scope
• Solves standard, cross-functional issues that span multiple groups
• Works with site operations to address discrepancies with documentation of facility infrastructure and installation of customer cages within a moderate scope
• Collaborates with various teams to identify any power/cooling issues that affect space capacity

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred
• Typical 3+ years of experience in data center capacity planning, facilities engineering, space planning, or mission‑critical infrastructure environments
• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD (or similar CAD tools), infrastructure documentation, and maintaining capacity or asset management data
• Working knowledge of data center electrical and mechanical systems, with the ability to support moderate‑scope design, capacity feasibility, and cross‑functional problem solving.
