About the role

  • Manager of research operations, overseeing DPRIT grant management and support for the South Texas Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. Engaging with stakeholders and providing staff oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary responsibility for DPRIT-related grant operations, financial planning, and comprehensive pre- and post-award management.
  • Establish and coordinate all aspects of DPRIT grant operating procedures.
  • Support management of DPRIT by working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Execute grant management activities including deadlines, risk management, and fiscal operations.
  • Assist in the negotiation of research contracts.
  • Develop and maintain documents for the grant application process.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and local regulations.
  • Maintain communication with the investigative team.
  • Provide staff training and oversight of research.

Requirements

  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well independently with faculty and staff with minimal supervision.
  • Possess strong skills for multitasking, meeting competing deadlines, prioritizing and supporting the investigator team.
  • Strong ethics and professionalism.
  • Bachelor's Degree is required; Master's degree is preferred.
  • Seven (7) years experience in research or related administration is required, or five (5) years experience with a Master's degree is preferred.
