About the role

Responsibilities
- Championing the Operations Environment Plan (OEP)
- Engage with and challenge the wider business to deliver on activities to improve environmental performance in line with the OEP.
- Coordinate and track activities and progress against plans
- Understand environmental performance data
- Support in upskilling the business to enable implementation of the OEP.
- Lead proactive engagement with Operations directorate environmental forums and regular meetings.
- Manage individual projects within the work streams outlined in the OEP.
- Creation of tailored guidance to operational colleagues on environmental issues and regulatory drivers.
Requirements
- 4–5 years of recent experience in environmental delivery within an operational, construction, engineering, transport, or logistics setting (Essential)
- Some knowledge of environmental improvement interventions in climate adaptation, habitat and biodiversity enhancement, green infrastructure, or circular economy approaches (Desirable)
- Knowledge of UK environmental legislation and regulatory structures (Desirable)
- Experience with ISO 14001 or similar environmental management systems (Desirable)
- Professional membership (e.g. ISEP, IES, CIWEM) is beneficial.
