About the role

  • Head of Transport Policing at TfL overseeing transport policing, community safety, and Vision Zero strategies while leading partnerships with policing agencies in London.

Responsibilities

  • Operate as TfL’s senior leader, shaping the strategic direction of transport and roads policing across London.
  • Drive the performance of TfL’s partnership with various policing and security agencies.
  • Provide leadership for TfL’s transport policing, community safety and Vision Zero strategies.
  • Responsible for integrating policing and enforcement activity across the network.
  • Set direction, oversee and performance manage policing services ensuring measurable impact and value.
  • Lead high profile programmes targeting fare evasion and traffic policing.
  • Act as a strategic partner, cultivating relationships across agencies and sectors.
  • Provide authoritative briefing to the Mayor and other senior stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Experienced senior leader with a deep understanding of policing, community safety, and transport environments.
  • Expert level knowledge of policing practice, criminal justice systems and the legislative frameworks including the Crime and Disorder Act 1988 and the Police Act 1996.
  • Significant senior level experience within policing, community safety, the wider public sector or similarly complex environments.
  • Experience in high profile settings where strategic decision making, cross-organisational collaboration and public accountability are critical to success.
  • Track record of managing complex and high value contracts or partnerships delivering public services impacting communities.
  • Exceptional ability to build relationships and influence at the highest levels.
  • Navigate political landscapes and stakeholder networks with confidence.
