About the role
- Senior Development Manager overseeing project selection and investment underwriting for community development banking. Collaborating with JV partners and internal teams across various US locations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee project selection, investment underwriting, and execution for community-based real estate investments
- Manage relationships with existing Joint Venture Sponsors and identify new opportunities
- Originate and assess new direct and construction JV projects for non-tax credit multi-family investments
- On-going management of investments in conjunction with portfolio management teammates
- Effectively communicate with JV partners regarding equity investment and development risk
- Coordinate with Risk, Finance, Legal, and internal teammates to ensure processes are followed and monitored
- Partner with CDB and CREB teams to plan, deliver, and scale national projects and initiatives
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in real estate finance
- Strong understanding of multi-family finance and underwriting
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with outside counsel in deal structuring
- Adept at reviewing and interpreting detailed Excel equity investment models
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to proceed independently and work collaboratively within a team
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Bachelor’s degree or advanced credentials (MBA, MPA, JD, CPA) strongly preferred
