About the role

  • Asset Manager overseeing maritime assets ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance standards. Collaborate with engineers and operators to deliver robust asset strategies for NSW's maritime network.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and delivering asset strategies for maritime infrastructure, balancing safety, reliability, and cost efficiency
  • Managing technical assurance frameworks and ensuring compliance with maritime regulations and engineering standards
  • Tackling technical and operational challenges head-on—keeping assets in service and projects on schedule
  • Working closely with operators, engineers, and suppliers to align priorities and deliver robust asset plans
  • Monitoring supplier performance and driving continuous improvement across maintenance and lifecycle planning
  • Spending time on-site—inspecting wharves, navigation aids, and coastal structures to understand real-world conditions

Requirements

  • Engineering qualifications
  • Experience in asset management, ideally within maritime or coastal infrastructure environments
  • Strong knowledge of technical assurance, compliance, and maritime standards
  • Skills in stakeholder engagement, planning, problem-solving, and contract management
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to work autonomously and suggest innovative solutions
  • Comfort working in outsourced delivery environments
  • Mode-specific experience is highly valued: Understanding of wharf structures, navigation aids, and coastal infrastructure requirements
