About the role
- Asset Manager overseeing maritime assets ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance standards. Collaborate with engineers and operators to deliver robust asset strategies for NSW's maritime network.
Responsibilities
- Developing and delivering asset strategies for maritime infrastructure, balancing safety, reliability, and cost efficiency
- Managing technical assurance frameworks and ensuring compliance with maritime regulations and engineering standards
- Tackling technical and operational challenges head-on—keeping assets in service and projects on schedule
- Working closely with operators, engineers, and suppliers to align priorities and deliver robust asset plans
- Monitoring supplier performance and driving continuous improvement across maintenance and lifecycle planning
- Spending time on-site—inspecting wharves, navigation aids, and coastal structures to understand real-world conditions
Requirements
- Engineering qualifications
- Experience in asset management, ideally within maritime or coastal infrastructure environments
- Strong knowledge of technical assurance, compliance, and maritime standards
- Skills in stakeholder engagement, planning, problem-solving, and contract management
- A proactive mindset with the ability to work autonomously and suggest innovative solutions
- Comfort working in outsourced delivery environments
- Mode-specific experience is highly valued: Understanding of wharf structures, navigation aids, and coastal infrastructure requirements
