About the role

  • Technical SEO Manager optimizing technical performance for operational brands in Malta. Leading audits, resolving challenges, and driving scalable SEO solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the technical SEO function, acting as the link between SEO strategy and web development, with responsibility for technical implementation, site performance optimisation, and SEO automation across multiple operator brands and PBN websites.
  • Identify and resolve technical SEO issues including site speed, crawlability, indexability, and structured data implementation to improve rankings and organic traffic, contributing to increases in New Registered Customers (NRC) and New Depositing Customers (NDC).
  • Conduct detailed technical audits, market research, and competitor analysis to identify growth opportunities, providing actionable insights to SEO, Content, and Development teams to prioritise high-impact initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with web development teams to implement SEO-friendly technical solutions, including ad server link replacement and optimisations across HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and server-side configurations.
  • Develop and implement AI-driven tools and automation processes to streamline technical SEO activities such as keyword research, content optimisation, and performance monitoring.
  • Partner with the content team by providing technical guidance on content publication, pruning, and removal, using data-driven insights to maximise SEO performance.
  • Proactively identify new optimisation opportunities and design testing initiatives aimed at improving rankings and site performance.
  • Analyse data, conversion metrics, and performance trends to evaluate SEO effectiveness and recommend continuous improvements.
  • Communicate technical SEO concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including developers, SEO specialists, and content teams.
  • Support offsite technical SEO initiatives, including link-building strategies focused on maintaining high-quality backlinks and domain authority.
  • Stay up to date with search engine algorithm updates and emerging SEO technologies, integrating innovative solutions into workflows where appropriate.

Requirements

  • Strong English communication skills; additional languages are considered an advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a highly competitive SEO environment, with a strong focus on technical SEO.
  • Advanced knowledge of technical SEO principles including site architecture, crawl optimisation, schema markup, and rendering approaches (server-side vs client-side JavaScript).
  • Solid understanding of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and their impact on SEO performance.
  • Experience using AI and automation tools for SEO processes, including scripting for analysis or workflow optimisation (e.g., Python or Google Apps Script).
  • Understanding of conversion metrics and their relationship with SEO performance.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Analytical and proactive mindset focused on identifying optimisation opportunities.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with SEO tools such as Sistrix, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and Google Search Console.
