- Plastic & Rubber Knowledge Engineer focusing on material selection and manufacturing processes at SSI Aeration. Supporting product development and troubleshooting in a site-based role.
Responsibilities
- Select suitable plastic and rubber materials based on application and performance.
- Support design and manufacturing teams with material and process expertise.
- Troubleshoot molding/extrusion/vulcanization defects and perform root cause analysis.
- Conduct and coordinate material testing (tensile, hardness, aging, compression set).
- Prepare material specifications, test reports, and technical documentation.
- Work with suppliers to qualify and improve material quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Polymer Science, Materials Engineering, Mechanical/Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in plastics, elastomers, or polymer processing.
- Knowledge of injection molding, extrusion, or rubber compounding.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
