Legal Internship supporting Inversion Capital’s legal and compliance function across regulatory and transactional matters. Gain hands-on exposure to private equity and blockchain technology under mentorship.
Responsibilities
Conduct legal research and analysis on regulatory, corporate, transactional, and compliance matters relevant to Inversion’s investment and operating activities.
Assist with the drafting, reviewing, and organization of legal documents, including agreements, internal memoranda, and governance materials.
Support the General Counsel in monitoring regulatory developments and helping assess their potential impacts on portfolio companies and strategic initiatives.
Assist with managing relationships with outside counsel by tracking matters, organizing diligence materials, and coordinating across multiple jurisdictions.
Help with corporate governance, entity management, and maintenance of legal and compliance documentation.
Prepare summaries, presentations, and briefing materials for internal stakeholders, senior management, and external advisors.
Attend and observe meetings with senior management, the board of directors, investors, and external advisors, and assist with meeting preparation and follow-up as appropriate.
Support ad hoc legal projects and special initiatives as they arise, including research-driven or time-sensitive matters.
Requirements
Current law student (rising 2L or 3L) enrolled in a J.D. program at an accredited law school in the United States.
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
Interest in private equity, technology, and crypto-related regulatory environments.
Strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
Sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to handle confidential information professionally.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a small, high-accountability team.
Clear verbal communication skills and comfort interacting with senior professionals.
Interest in, or some exposure to, corporate, transactional, regulatory, or compliance-related legal work.
Familiarity with financial services, private equity, venture capital, or technology-enabled business models.
Experience using legal research platforms such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
Intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to learning new subject matter quickly.
Benefits
This legal internship may be completed on either a paid or for academic credit basis. Interns will be paid at a rate of $1000/week. Alternatively, interns may elect to receive university academic credit, with all required documentation and supervision formally supported and signed off by Inversion, subject to the requirements of the intern’s academic institution.
