About the role

  • Legal compliance and HR Manager ensuring legal compliance and HR operations for Intertek in Sofia. Overseeing recruitment, employee relations, and compliance training while managing legal risks and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure company-wide compliance with applicable legislation, managing legal risks, litigation exposure, internal investigations, and notifications to Group HR/Legal and insurers.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts and standard terms, safeguarding the company’s contractual framework, corporate governance, and intellectual property.
  • Maintain updated policies and contractual documentation in line with regulatory changes, provide day-to-day legal advice, and ensure adherence to institutional and health & safety requirements.
  • Oversee HR documentation and processes (probation, salary review, resignations, employee files) while ensuring full employment-law compliance and mitigation of labor risks.
  • Support and coach managers on HR policies, employment legislation, and people management, ensuring consistent application of procedures and effective resolution of Employee Relations cases.
  • Guide performance management, labor relations, promotions, compensation matters, and regional HR initiatives.
  • Support the full recruitment and selection cycle, including candidate sourcing, interviews, reference checks, contract issuing, onboarding, and employee lifecycle administration.
  • Partner with regional HR and local management on hiring, induction, termination/redundancy processes, and the development of competency and training programs.
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver training and guidance materials on data protection, compliance, and legal risks, identifying knowledge gaps and strengthening internal awareness.
  • Work closely with internal teams (Sales, Finance, IT, Procurement, Tax, HR) and external legal advisors to ensure effective information flow, efficient project management, and controlled legal spending.

Requirements

  • University degree in Law, Human Resources, or a related field, with solid experience in Legal & Compliance and HR Operations in an international or regulated environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, corporate governance, compliance frameworks, and commercial contract management.
  • Proven ability to manage Employee Relations matters, advise and coach managers, and support the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment and performance management.
  • Experience in developing and delivering compliance, data protection, or legal risk training, with a proactive and hands-on approach.
  • Fluency in Bulgarian and English (written and spoken); strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work cross-functionally with internal and external partners.
