About the role

  • Unit Claims Manager leading a team responsible for quality claims service at Intact. Focused on achieving business goals and managing operations in Ontario offices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and manage team operations to achieve Intact’s key business goals
  • Select, lead, mentor, manage performance and develop staff
  • Act in a consultative and advisory capacity on liability determination, investigation, policy interpretation, settlement negotiation, and reserve establishment for claims
  • Resolve complex claims related issues and/or escalated problems
  • Identify and recommend changes to policies and/or processes to improve business results and maintain competitiveness
  • Participate in budget making; and recruitment and hiring of your team

Requirements

  • Strong technical skills in automobile claims
  • Minimum 3 years of Claims experience
  • Proven leadership skills including ability to motivate and coach staff
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • University degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role
  • Workforce management and experience in a contact center environment would be an asset
