Responsibilities
Gather policyholders' or witnesses' accounts by interviewing them about the events
Determine whether the claim is covered by analyzing the required coverages
Analyze the information obtained, make decisions to establish liability, and review damage assessments
Settle the claim in a fair and equitable manner, validate damages and process payments
When necessary, open new claims by phone with clients and ensure immediate handling of the situation
Requirements
Motivated to pursue a career in claims
Relevant experience for the role (knowledge of building mechanical systems)
Strong time management skills
Ability to work with computer systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Bilingual French/English; required to answer calls and regularly provide service to English-speaking clients
Minimum: either a college diploma OR three years of transferable full‑time experience combined with a high school diploma / vocational diploma (DES/DEP) (at least 60 credits), Certificate of Equivalence of Secondary Studies (CEES), or an attestation of equivalency to the fifth year of secondary school
