About the role

  • Research Manager overseeing Multi-Sector Needs Assessments (MSNA) in Nigeria for humanitarian planning. Engaging with OCHA and partners to ensure effective research implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all staff members understand and can perform their roles and responsibilities, including reporting and validation duties to HQ.

Requirements

  • Excellent academic qualifications, including a master’s degree in a relevant discipline (International Relations, Political Science, Social Research, Economics, Development Studies, or similar).
  • Previous experience in a management role within an INGO at field level.
  • Proven track record managing international and national teams in humanitarian contexts.
  • Familiarity with the humanitarian aid system and the research community.
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills for effective reporting, with experience contributing to high-level presentations and briefings.
  • At least 4 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in humanitarian and research settings, or demonstrated progression within IMPACT.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Proven experience in quantitative and qualitative research design, data collection, and data analysis.
  • Experience with assessments, M&E, field research, and evaluations is an asset.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with R, SPSS, STATA, or other statistical analysis software is an asset.
  • Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines across multiple research cycles in complex environments.
  • A self-starter with proven ability to work independently.
  • Ability to operate in a cross-cultural environment and adapt flexibly.
  • Prior experience in the West Africa region is desirable.
  • Fluency in English required.
  • Ability to operate in complex and challenging security environments.
