About the role

  • Business Development Manager developing customer solutions at Fraunhofer's microelectronics research facility. Engage in strategic planning and collaboration with partners in Germany and Europe.

Responsibilities

  • Customer consulting & technical solution development: You handle technical inquiries to the Research Fab Microelectronics Germany (FMD) and coordinate collaboration between internal and external partners within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Together with the institutes and partners of the FMD, you develop tailored solution proposals for your customers.
  • You proactively initiate new customer inquiries and accompany them through to the preparation of a well-founded technological offer.
  • Strategic development & market monitoring: You identify long-term customer needs and use these insights for operational and strategic project planning.
  • You monitor trends, technological developments and relevant events to derive roadmaps and recommended actions.
  • You actively contribute to shaping the FMD offering within the framework of the APECS pilot line and to the further development of the business strategy.
  • Networking & representation: You build strategic customer relationships, maintain them and continuously develop them.

Requirements

  • Completed degree in electronics, electrical engineering (microelectronics/MST), physics, industrial engineering or a comparable qualification.
  • Several years of professional experience in the microelectronics field, ideally including active participation in collaborations between research and industry and a strong network of relevant stakeholders.
  • Business acumen and the ability to capture and structure complex technical requirements and customer needs.
  • Persuasive communication and negotiation skills as well as the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Independent, decisive working style and enthusiasm for presenting FMD topics clearly to a specialist audience.
  • Willingness to travel within Germany and Europe (approx. 20%, occasionally including weekends).
  • Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken.
