About the role

  • Policy Advisor supporting IIF's regulatory engagement in Europe. Managing media relations and external communications activities while collaborating with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze regulatory initiatives from European and global bodies.
  • Draft background documents, policy memos, and consensus papers.
  • Lead or support the drafting and submission of industry responses to consultations.
  • Coordinate with IIF members in Europe to gather input and build consensus on regulatory topics.
  • Engage with European regulators, supervisors, and standard-setting bodies.
  • Organize and support policy-related meetings, working groups, and roundtables.
  • Serve as an IIF media contact in Europe, supporting press relationships and responding to inquiries.
  • Help draft and distribute press releases, public statements, and media notifications.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree in Economics, Law, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in financial regulation, public affairs, or policy analysis.
  • Strong understanding of EU policymaking.
  • Good network of policy and media stakeholders in Brussels and around Europe.
  • Experience at a consultancy, or agency, or any other role that included communications, media relations and/or press outreach.
  • Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and diplomacy skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively across teams.
  • Fluent in English, and at least another European language.
