About the role
- Project Accountant managing the financial aspects of international solar tracker projects. Ensuring transparent billing processes and effective stakeholder management for successful project execution.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the commercial handling of complex, international solar tracker projects, including preparation of all customer invoices and maintenance of audit-ready documentation in accordance with contractual milestones
- Ensure a transparent, accurate and timely billing process, including review of contractual payment schedules and proactive resolution of billing-related issues
- Active cash flow and receivables management with timely invoicing and monitoring of incoming payments
- Effective stakeholder management with Sales, Legal and Project Management to address deviations early and ensure smooth handling of all payment and billing processes
- Communication and clarification of commercial issues at an operational level with management and international customers, including clear presentation of relevant project KPIs, cash flow information and risk assessments
- Active participation in process and tool optimizations and further digitization by identifying potential improvements, defining requirements and supporting as a Key User
Requirements
- Completed commercial vocational training with relevant professional experience or a university degree
- Several years of experience in project billing, project-related accounting or inside sales, ideally in an international environment with complex, long-duration industrial projects
- Strong understanding of contract structures, payment schedules, milestone logic and the financial accounting of project-related matters
- Confident skills in invoicing and experience with VAT requirements for international invoices
- Proficient use of ERP systems and reporting tools, with strong analytical skills and a high affinity for numbers
- Structured, independent and solution-oriented working style with a strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail
- International communication skills and a confident, assertive and diplomatic manner with management, customers and cross-functional stakeholders
- Business-fluent German and English, both written and spoken
