About the role

  • Planning Engineer responsible for developing and managing project schedules at SP Energy Networks. Involved in large-scale projects supporting UK's electricity demand and Net-Zero strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and managing evolving SP Energy Networks Transmission project schedules through the Development and Delivery project lifecycle
  • Interfacing with internal and external stakeholders to provide accurate project scheduling information
  • Identifying and communicating inter-dependencies and clashes while leading development of innovative programming solutions
  • Assessing schedule risk within the portfolio and suggesting solutions to alleviate or mitigate risks
  • Analyzing internal departmental and external contractor project schedules to advise the project team.

Requirements

  • Previous experience scheduling, programming and planning large-scale projects is essential
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or possessing equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office tools such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency with planning software tools such as MS Project, Primavera (P6) and MSPe
  • Good verbal and written communications skills with strong numerical and analytical abilities
  • Understanding of project methodology, with experience in scheduling and reporting
  • Conducting schedule risk analysis and working with stakeholders to agree actions.
