Responsibilities
Provides advanced legal and administrative support for medical malpractice litigation.
Assists in the investigation, management, and defense of medical malpractice claims and lawsuits.
Prepares legal documents and organizes case materials.
Maintains litigation data and ensures timely communication between stakeholders.
Collaborates with in-house counsel and outside defense counsel on medical malpractice matters.
Drafts, reviews, and summarizes legal correspondence and medical records.
Maintains accurate case data in claims management system and generates reports.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Five years of experience as a paralegal in civil litigation, preferably in medical malpractice, healthcare law, or insurance defense.
Paralegal certificate from an accredited program preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and case management software.
Strong understanding of litigation processes, document management, and legal terminology.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information.
The ability to manage complex, high-volume cases within a large academic healthcare environment.
