About the role

  • Litigation Paralegal providing legal and administrative support for medical malpractice litigation. Collaborating with in-house and outside counsel to manage complex claims and ensure timely communication.

Responsibilities

  • Provides advanced legal and administrative support for medical malpractice litigation.
  • Assists in the investigation, management, and defense of medical malpractice claims and lawsuits.
  • Prepares legal documents and organizes case materials.
  • Maintains litigation data and ensures timely communication between stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with in-house counsel and outside defense counsel on medical malpractice matters.
  • Drafts, reviews, and summarizes legal correspondence and medical records.
  • Maintains accurate case data in claims management system and generates reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Five years of experience as a paralegal in civil litigation, preferably in medical malpractice, healthcare law, or insurance defense.
  • Paralegal certificate from an accredited program preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and case management software.
  • Strong understanding of litigation processes, document management, and legal terminology.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • The ability to manage complex, high-volume cases within a large academic healthcare environment.
