Responsibilities

  • Negotiates complex technology transfer agreements with industry or sources of capital investment in university technology.
  • Manages an extensive intellectual property portfolio including valuating, marketing and licensing intellectual property.
  • Serves as a liaison with university departments to execute technology transfer agreements.
  • Educates the research community on the value of intellectual property and technology transfer.
  • Trains licensing associate staff regarding Emory's intellectual property portfolio and effective negotiating skills.

Requirements

  • A J.D. or a graduate degree in business or a related science discipline.
  • Four years of licensing experience in industry or an academic environment.
  • Effective negotiating skills.
