About the role
- Security Officer responsible for maintaining safety and security at Hilton in Harrisburg, PA. Conducting patrols, responding to emergencies, and supervising housekeeping staff.
Responsibilities
- Performs protective and enforcement functions in a courteous and restrained manner
- Spend majority of shift on foot patrol, observing and identifying potential security and safety risks
- Verbal communication using pager and two-way radio
- Maintain order in the hotel, dealing with the welfare of guests
- Coordinate expedient response to emergency conditions
- Handle undesired conduct, violations of hotel policy and civil laws
- Answer security telephone and safety hotline calls
- Observe CCTV monitors for any unusual activity
- Memorize and monitor life safety system installed at property
- Assist in the supervision of housekeeping staff
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior security, law enforcement or other military experience preferred
- Thorough knowledge of the layout of the building, function rooms, and some knowledge of the city and surrounding areas with appropriate training
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers
- Ability to listen effectively, speak, read and write English clearly
- Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for duration of shift
- Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations
- Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a maximum of 200 lbs
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders at a rapid pace
- Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.
