About the role
- Controller responsible for all financial systems and controls at Embassy Suites. Preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial reports as the financial manager of the hotel.
Responsibilities
- Establishes, coordinates and administers all financial systems, internal controls and the hotel's capital plan.
- Prepares and reviews budgets, forecasts, operating results, financial reports and tax returns in compliance with government regulations.
- Responsible for short- and long-term planning and the daily operations of the Controller's department.
- Develops and recommends the department's budget and objectives.
- Participates in total hotel management as a member of the hotel's Executive Committee.
- Act as a financial consultant and provide information on the financial impact of business decisions.
- Establish and administer all tax filing and government reporting procedures.
- Monitor compliance with hotel and accounting policies and procedures.
Requirements
- High School diploma /Secondary qualification or equivalent.
- Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham or Hyatt processes and standards.
- Experience with multiple accounting and budget systems/programs.
- Ability to perform lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying up to 15-20 lbs.
- Limited bending/kneeling required when arranging supplies or equipment.
- Strong communication skills are essential when interacting with guests and employees.
- Basic math skills are used frequently when handling cash or credit.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and/or holidays.
