Safety Manager responsible for planning and implementing safety management in railway technology. Involves risk analyses, collaboration with project teams, and documentation management.
Responsibilities
Planning, implementation and maintenance of safety management according to EN 50126, including risk and safety analyses (e.g., FMEA, FTA, Hazard Log)
Assessment of safety-relevant software processes according to EN 50716 and participation in software evidence and tool qualification
Preparation and maintenance of the Safety Case according to EN 50129, including definition and demonstration of safety objectives
Conducting hazard identification and risk assessments according to the CSM-RA methodology and coordination with AsBo and authorities
Close collaboration with project management, development, certification/approval, quality and external experts
Management of safety-relevant documentation and communication across project milestones
Requirements
Technical degree (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Railway Engineering)
Several years of experience in functional safety, railway technology or safety-critical product development
Solid knowledge of EN 50126, EN 50716, EN 50129 and the CSM-RA methodology
Experience with safety analyses, Safety Cases and risk management processes
Practical experience with tools such as DOORS/Polarion, FMEA software and Hazard-Log systems
Confident handling of regulatory requirements and notified bodies
Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills, and the ability to assert decisions
Structured, solution-oriented and independent working style
Very good German and English language skills
