About the role
- Applications Engineer providing technical product design solutions for customers in the plastics industry. Analyzing customer needs and coordinating product development for efficient project execution.
Responsibilities
- Analyze the needs of the customer and offer reasonable and efficient product design/development engineering solutions
- Coordinate product materials, manufacturing process, testing, prototyping, quality, project management, and troubleshooting for successful project development
- Respond to technical queries by Customers and Sales representatives
- Assess and analyze applications for resin specifications, gate locations, etc.
- Recommend and approve any change requests for orders
- Follow up the status of jobs through design and manufacturing
Requirements
- A degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Tool & Die)
- Minimum of four (4) years related experience
- Experience with 3D/2D design, SAP or an ERP is preferred
- Previous experience as Process Engineer or Industrial Engineering would be an asset
- Previous experience with flow/thermal simulation related to injection molding processes is strongly preferred
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills
- Capable of reading and interpreting documents such as process documentation, blueprints, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
