Responsibilities
Provide effective support and assistance to your Design Team Leader on Structures schemes
Take the lead on projects and mentor junior engineers and technicians
Leading a team, producing technically sound engineering solutions
Taking ownership and leading projects from start to finish
Preparation and checking of designs, calculations, drawings and documentation
Overseeing actions of junior members of staff and taking responsibility for their actions
Contributing to the professional development of junior staff
Liaising with client and supplier representatives at peer level
Requirements
Developed experience and expertise within the Structures field
Ability to produce or oversee the production of technically sound engineering solutions
Takes ownership for the preparation and checking of deliverables
Very good working knowledge of relevant software and similar analytical tools (e.g LUSAS, Autodesk Structural Bridge Design)
Demonstrates good commercial awareness
Good understanding of CDM and risk assessment
Substantially experienced in the management and communication of hazards and risks on projects
Demonstrates a good understanding of interface management
Incorporated or Chartered status with the ICE or IStructE (or an equivalent professional licence) is desirable
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an appropriate subject or demonstrable equivalent further learning
