About the role

  • Cybersecurity Specialist supporting Department of Defense initiatives in IT operations and cybersecurity governance. Responsibilities include security assessments and compliance in complex operational environments.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and organize technical and mission requirements for security design
  • Support secure system configuration and validation activities
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and assist in risk analysis
  • Test security products and systems to identify weaknesses
  • Support audits to ensure compliance with security plans and policies
  • Assist with firewall configuration, network security analysis, and cloud security implementation
  • Contribute to continuity of operations (COOP) and disaster recovery planning

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline
  • 4–8 years of cybersecurity experience
  • Experience with system/network security, risk assessments, and security policy implementation
  • One of the following for the Advanced Roles: CISSP, CISSP-ISSMP, CISM, FITSP-M, GCIA, GCIH, GICSP, GSLC or any equivalent certifications
  • Intermediate Role: Security+, SSCP, CC, GMON, CASP+ (Security X), CCISO, CCSP, CGRC/CAP, Cloup +, GCSA, GSEC, CISSO or any equivalent certifications
