Corporate Security Investigator at BJ’s Wholesale Club conducting investigations to protect company assets and employee safety. Collaborating with various teams and law enforcement to address security issues.
Responsibilities
Conducts some complex investigations into internal and external criminal activity directed at BJ’s or representatives.
Conducts suspect/witness interviews, collects evidence, and is involved in the case management system.
Analyze data and gather information collected through interviews, surveillance, and other sources to identify and implement changes based on situation analysis.
Documents investigative findings which may be shared with other internal departments and/or external agencies.
Travels to and performs physical risk and threat assessments within BJ’s footprint for onsite and off-site event locations and recommends necessary levels of security.
Recommends and conducts security-based training based on own evaluation of business needs and risk.
Protect company personnel through the implementation of security protocols.
Monitors behavior to assess and mitigate concerns, conducts security sweeps to support comprehensive safety plans.
Responsible for leading response to emergency situations and providing support until emergency services arrive.
Must be able to properly document details for all emergencies in the Case Management System.
Extensive knowledge of security operations, safety, and fire prevention.
Independently exercises a high level of discretion and judgement, while using strong analytical and problem-solving skills in ensuring company security concerns are addressed and mitigated.
Identify/mitigate potential security concerns and coordinate response, including physical security to prevent the need for crisis management.
Manage the analysis and communication of risk, threat, and intelligence information to stakeholders.
Develop and maintain relationships with relevant law enforcement and other security professionals.
Contribute to safety and security process improvements and assist in various company projects as needed.
Responds to unscheduled calls and emergencies as they arise.
Always maintain a professional appearance by wearing the proper attire.
Work closely with Club Support Center teams to manage security and safety during onsite and offsite events.
Serves as a liaison with other corporation security representatives.
Maintain a strong knowledge base of industry wide best practices as they apply to the safety and security of the facility/personnel.
Other duties as assigned by their supervisor.
Requirements
Minimum 10 years’ experience in law enforcement or military police.
Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Working knowledge of security technology such as CCTV systems and Access Control Systems.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Must pass comprehensive background and reference check.
Ability to pay close attention to detail.
Interest in protecting the people and assets within the organization.
Travel required up to 30%.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
CPR, First Responder, EMT, or similar emergency response certification required.
