About the role
- Associate Director of Revenue Accounting at Guidehouse responsible for evaluating and applying ASC 606 for federal consulting contracts. Overseeing compliance and providing training across financial teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead the evaluation and application of ASC 606 for federal consulting contracts.
- Conduct technical accounting analysis for new awards, IDIQ task orders, extensions, options, and scope changes.
- Ensure accounting and reporting practices consistent with internal controls, and corporate policies.
- Review or oversee revenue treatment for subcontractors, ODCs, and pass-through expenses in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Identify opportunities to improve automation, data quality, and internal controls across the revenue cycle.
- Provide training and guidance to project managers and project finance on revenue concepts contract compliance.
- Support internal and external auditors, responding to requests and providing required analyses.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree plus minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience; OR 14 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in federal government contracting or professional services.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced, contract‑driven environment.
- Proactive problem solver with strong business judgment.
- Excellent collaborator and communicator across technical and operational teams.
