About the role

  • Property Accountant responsible for financial statements, accounts payable, and cash management at Great Lakes Management. Collaborating with site staff to enhance the lives of residents.

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable invoices and issue payments
  • Assist site staff with outstanding vendor accounts and statements
  • W-9 procurement, vendor setup, lien waiver collection, and preparation of 1099’s
  • Cash management entries, positive pay submissions, and bank reconciliations
  • Reconcile accounts receivable and support monthly billing
  • Process general ledger adjusting entries and account reconciliations
  • Produce monthly financial statements
  • Prepare annual Certificates of Rent Paid for residential tenants
  • Enter annual budgets

Requirements

  • 2- or 4-year degree in accounting, finance or similar field
  • 2-4 years of experience in accounting or related field
  • Strong general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable knowledge
  • Proficient computer skills, experience with Excel required (SUMIF, VLOOKUP, etc…)
  • Prior experience with RealPage, Eldermark, or property management experience a plus
  • Demonstrate strong time-management skills with the ability to regularly shift priorities as needed to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and organizational skills for regular coordination with site and corporate staff
