About the role
- Senior Accountant managing core accounting, financial analysis, and reporting at PPGNY. Supporting the Controller in all accounting-related matters and ensuring accurate financial operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare required journal entries, including reclassifications for all assigned accounts
- Prepare and/or review all assigned account analyses.
- Maintain complete and accurate workpapers supporting account balances.
- Prepare trend analyses and budget-to-actual comparisons.
- Summarize major drivers of changes in financial results.
- Assist in preparing consolidated and departmental financial statements.
- Provide support for the annual audit process.
- Assist in preparing quarterly and annual external reports.
- Meet with department leaders to review financial results and explain budget variances.
- Provide support in the agency’s annual budgeting process.
- Document key accounting processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- 5+ years accounting related positions, with continued expansion of scope.
- Previous accounting software experience.
- Proven experience in account reconciliation and analysis.
