About the role

  • Marketing Scientist responsible for establishing Marketing Science and driving data credibility at a brand tracking startup. Collaborating across teams to define how data and insights shape brand growth.

Responsibilities

  • Owning research rigour, methodology, and standards, defining and upholding clear standards for research quality, methodological integrity, and analytical consistency.
  • Protecting and evolving Tracksuit’s data credibility, ensuring insights stand up to scrutiny from customers, partners, and industry experts.
  • Translating large-scale brand health data into enduring models, frameworks, and points of view.
  • Partnering with Product, Marketing, and Strategic Partnerships to ensure insights are used appropriately and effectively.
  • Creating repeatable processes, principles, and decision frameworks that allow Marketing Science to scale without compromising quality.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in research design, methodology, and statistical thinking, with a strong track record of applying this in commercial or applied settings.
  • High bar for scientific rigour, credibility, and integrity — comfortable being the person who sets and defends that bar.
  • Understand how data, insight, product, and storytelling connect, and design with that in mind.
  • Able to turn complex, messy data into clear, durable, and compelling points of view and exercise strong judgement.
  • Comfortable influencing across functions without formal authority, guiding teams toward better decisions.
  • Excited by the opportunity to define a new function from the ground up and communicate clearly and confidently.
  • Balance depth with pragmatism — this isn’t academic research for its own sake, but work that creates real, long-term impact.
  • Curious, thoughtful, and motivated by raising the standard of thinking across an organisation.
